Reason for Project: The clients site was unstable, slow and not upgrade-able. When they would go in and make changes to any page; title colors & fonts, background colors, etc would all change. WordPress was not able to be upgraded, and their Astra theme could not be upgraded. The site was VERY slow, coming in at a 2 in Google Page Speed for desktop and mobile. They are using Astra and Elementor.
Resolution: Create a dev environment, and first install a child theme instead of using customization’s on the parent theme. Check global colors in Elementor, find where the issue is for the changes when making an update to a page. Speed up the site. Run a full SEO Audit.
What I did: I created a dev environment, then installed a child theme and moved any customization’s from the Astra theme to the Astra Child theme. I then broke the site on the dev environment to be able to troubleshoot the issues they were having. I fixed the site permanently instead of changing single instances of the break. I then went in and fixed the global colors of Elementor. I updated Astra, WordPress and all plugins. I optimized the images, and site for speed, resized several images, enabled compression, and caching. The site sped up immensely.
